According to the information obtained by PRODAFT Cyber Security firm, the number of people whose credit card information was stolen in Turkey only in September of 2021 was 178 thousand 797. The passwords of 436 thousand people targeted by cyber attackers during the year fell into the hands of malicious people.
Malware, which is transmitted through fake campaign content sent to mobile phones, continues to be a problem for people. Although the authorities regularly warn the citizens, the number of people whose information is stolen by this method increases every day. The most vital danger is credit card and bank information.
Working with many banks, e-commerce, finance, insurance, aviation, telecommunications and public institutions in Turkey with its expert staff in the field of cyber security, PRODAFT prepares large-scale reports on cyber attacks every year. According to the latest report, a large increase in cyber attacks was observed in 2021.
BANKING ATTACKS AT THE TOP IN SEPTEMBER
In 2021, the banking information of a total of 436 thousand 399 people was seized, while the credit card information of 362 thousand 866 people was stolen. Especially in September, there was a great increase in attacks.
Only the credit card stolen case was 178 thousand 797 this month, while the banking information of 152 thousand 132 people was in the hands of third parties in September. In just one year, 19,946 illegal websites were set up to capture people's personal data.
The most common method of hacking people's hide information is malware transmitted from messages sent to mobile phones.

THE TARGET OF CYBER ATTACKERS WAS ANDROID OPERATING SYSTEM PHONES
Phones with Android operating system were preferred as the target of 99 percent of malicious software whose banking information was seized. While some of the information was sold on the deep web, some people were defrauded, money was taken from their credit cards and their bank accounts were emptied.
On the other hand, in Apple, an application that is not in the App Store cannot be installed on the device. The situation is different in Android. A software can be installed on the device whether Google Play is published or not. For this reason, those who have an Android phone should definitely tick the 'no installation from unapproved sources' option in the settings.
