The owner of shares in the company is a shareholder (or stockholder) of the corporation. A share is an indivisible unit of capital, expressing the ownership relationship between the company and the shareholder. The denominated value of a share is its face value, and the total face value of issued shares represents the capital of a company, which may not reflect the market value of those shares.
What is Volatility
Volatility is the degree of variation of a trading price series over time, usually measured by the standard deviation of logarithmic returns. Historic volatility measures a time series of past market prices. Implied volatility looks forward in time, being derived from the market price of a market-traded derivative. If volatility is high, the risk is high.
Bitcoin-Volatility Example
Bitcoin has low volatility. Still, the price of bitcoin is moving along with other cryptocurrencies. Bitcoin has the potential to reach its volatility with large-scale currencies.
