Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said that they could recognize Nagorno-Karabakh as Azerbaijani territory if guarantees are given for the rights and security of the local population.
Speaking at a press conference on Monday, Pashinyan said that the security and rights of the Armenian population in Nagorno-Karabakh should be addressed in the next round of negotiations.
Pashinyan said, "If Azerbaijan and we understand each other correctly, Armenia will recognize the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan within the defined borders. Baku will also recognize the territorial integrity of Armenia within 29,800 square kilometers.
The Armenian leader also stressed that if such a decision is taken, they will also demand international security guarantees to prevent Azerbaijan's "ethnic cleansing".
